“Naija don Wowo Finish” – Filling station caught for pumping in ₦35k worth of air instead of fuel in man’s car(Video)
A Nigerian man has accused a filling station of selling him air worth ₦35,000 instead of fuel and vowed to involve the police.
This was revealed in a post circulating on the popular social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
In the video, a man can be heard speaking in the background while recording the fuel attendant.
He claims the attendant sold him air instead of fuel, as his fuel gauge remained unaffected despite spending ₦35,000.
He confronted the attendant, saying, “You said you sold ₦35,000 worth of fuel for me, but my gauge hasn’t moved. How did you do that? Are you pumping air into my car?”
The man then demanded the presence of the station manager, adding, “We’re going to the police station today. You must explain this racket you’re running here. If I didn’t know better, would you have tried to deceive me this morning?”
The post quickly gained traction, with many users expressing their thoughts in the comment section.
See some reactions below:
@01Sixgod: “I swear to God this also happened to me last week @ AP fuel station close to Agege bridge Omo I change it for them.”
@SisoConstructi1: “Almost all filling stations do it…the level of corruption in this country is alarming.”
@edoyakulo: “They do, don’t know how because the meter will be reading. I experienced it years ago at the filling station at Area 11 close to FHQ. Fill up tank and it even spilled then got home few minutes after to fuel gauge at quarter full.”
@leumas_mahni_og: “I’ve explained this to people many times. There’s no way a nozzle will dispense air; it only happens if there’s no fuel in the tank at the fuel station. If your fuel isn’t complete, it could be because the liter might be tampered with, or your fuel gauge might be faulty.”
@Olalereafeez12: “Similar things happen to me at bovas station I no fit cry cus I no notice in time.”
@Jahswill_7: “It has happened to me before, same AP bt the one by holy trinity. I started making troubles, when they noticed I wasn’t ready to let go, one of the attendants opted to balance me 2k cash or equivalent of fuel. This was in 2019.”
@Seereal001: “Lemme guess… this should be the AP opposite Transcorp Hilton. By now, every Abuja resident should avoid that fueling station. From the manager to the pump attendants, they collude. Highway robbers!”
@anaga_banner: “I saw 945 in AP along Aba road in Porthacourt and decided to go and buy, after buying 40k fuel and seeing it didn’t take me to my destination,I respected myself and stopped buying cos it was cheap.”
