The UNILAG student who begged for school fees on street celebrates as she graduates with honors(Watch)
A University of Lagos (UNILAG) student, Oluwakemi Emmanuel who once had to beg on the streets for her school fees has achieved an incredible milestone.
In 2023, Oluwakemi went viral online after she was caught in the Ifako-Gbagada area of Lagos to plead for school fees worth N225k since the university announced an increment. She was seen with a placard saying, “Please help a final year student with her school fees. God bless you.”
Fastforward to 2025, the latest graduate recounted her financial struggle as she finally graduated with honors in B.Sc. Mass Communication.
She expressed her heartfelt gratitude, saying she is deeply thankful to God for guiding her through the challenging journey and to everyone who provided financial support along the way. ❤️❤️.”
She wrote, “Officially a B.Sc. Mass Communication graduate from the University of Lagos! What started in December 2017 has finally come to a beautiful end today. I’m deeply grateful to God for guiding me through this journey and to everyone who supported me financially along the way. ❤️❤️.”
